On Sale Now: 'Ron White's Comedy Salute to the Troops'

Las Vegas Show Benefits the Armed Forces Foundation

Side-splitting funnyman Ron White (aka Tater Salad) is once again hosting his Comedy Salute to the Troops fundraiser, now in its seventh year.

With all proceeds benefiting the Armed Forces Foundation, White’s labor of love will be broadcast on CMT for the fifth time, and tickets to the show are now available through Ticketmaster.

White made his name with the Blue Collar Comedy tour (which also featured Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy), and the Texas native has long been an ardent supporter of American soldiers, often taking part in USO tours overseas.

“Well, just from visiting Walter Reed [National Military Medical Center]. The first time we went, I went with the Blue Collar boys, and I was talking to this guy holding his 2-year-old daughter in the only limb he had left,” White told CMT about his motivation for the benefit. “I went outside and just cried like a baby. I’m like, ‘God, there’s gotta be something I can do,’ you know? And what I do isn’t enough. It’s our responsibility, so I take it pretty personally.”

The lineup for his 2015 special will feature White, along with comedians Kathleen Madigan, Rocky LaPorte, Shane Torres and Gene Pompa.

Ron White's Comedy Salute to the Troops will take place March 4 at the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and will air at a later date on CMT.
